62 Primal GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
Standard GR rim contour: a balance of medium characteristics, this rim is comfortable and should be easy for most players to adapt to quickly. The width may feel a bit more generous than traditional rims and will aid endurance. Flexibility is good and articulations will be cleanly defined.
.62" rim diameter, approximately equivalent to a Bach 10½
Primal cup: basically a combination of the GR M and MS cups. The alpha angle feel is similar to an M but with slightly more support. The cup has a medium/high compression like the MS. This combination really screams but with a huge fat sound that can be sweet if you back off. The best thing about the Primal 62 is that it works incredibly well with the following GR backbores:
The #2 backbore was the original Primal backbore. It provides a huge warm sound that can be powerful when pushed. This is the perfect backbore for tighter trumpets or for players who want a solid core to their sound, with fast response, but do not need an extreme upper register. Great for concert band and section work.
The #1 backbore provides the Primal 62 player with very fast attacks, a lower register that pops at very soft volumes, and an upper register that sparkles with a huge core. Ideal for all around lead playing.
The Primal cup with the revolutionary GR T-72 backbore provides many of our customers' favorite set up. Super fast attacks, high compression, an effortless extreme upper register that commands any ensemble, plus fast attacks and secure slotting all over the horn. This combination will support huge double C's all they way to the end of the night, consistently!
Please indicate the backbore model you'd like in the comments section of the shopping cart page.

62Z Primal GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
Standard GR rim contour: a balance of medium characteristics, this rim is comfortable and should be easy for most players to adapt to quickly. The width may feel a bit more generous than traditional rims and will aid endurance. Flexibility is good and articulations will be cleanly defined.
.62" rim diameter, approximately equivalent to a Bach 10½
Primal Z cup: same alpha angle as the Primal, but with an even shallower Z-style cup. This one is a bit too shallow even for most lead players, but if you really like to rip and don't have a problem with a smaller cup volume, definitely check this one out. The chop room of the Primal with a Z cup makes for a devastating combination.

E62S GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
E rim contour: made for players who require a wider feel and less bite. This rim is ideal for players that require good endurance; furthermore it is great for downsizing, giving the player the same outside diameter, yet smaller inside diameter. The bite is medium soft and contour is semi-flat.
.62" rim diameter, approximately equivalent to a Bach 10½
S cup: The versatile GR S cup can be used in varied musical situations. The sound is big and brilliant. Projection is excellent. The backbore is the GR #1, with good core to the sound. The S Cup volume is small, though it has ample lip room for most players. This is an ideal solution to those who bottom out on conventional commercial cups. The alpha angle is not too high and does not impinge the lips; furthermore, it has the ability to lightly grip and keeps the lips held into place for great endurance. This cup is great for lead, show work, studio work, and all-around playing.

MS cup: has a slightly lower alpha angle, greater cup volume, a slight increase in cup depth, and a larger backbore---the GR #2---than the S cup. This is a great all-around cup with a huge, brilliant sound. The added volume and a slightly lower alpha angle give the player more lip room: an ideal solution for players who find that the GR S cup is a bit tight for them. The sound is big and full with an excellent core. It has less edge than the S cup and works well in all playing situations.

62Z* GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
Z* rim contour: medium bite---slightly more than the Standard rim
.62" rim diameter, approximately equivalent to a Bach 10½
Z cup: has a small cup volume with a fat, brilliant, powerful sound throughout the range, and an astonishingly easy upper register. While most conventional commercial cups tend to shut off vibrations and have a thin tone, the Z cups have the chop room to allow for free lip vibrations which produce clean articulations, and a full commanding sound from low F# to above double C! The Z cups features a higher alpha angle than the S Cup and longer L1 to achieve optimum lip room for vibrating freedom, support for compression and crisp articulation. The Z* rim has a medium bite and the Z** rim has a softer bite; otherwise the Z cup parameters are basically the same. This is an excellent choice for commercial playing, big band, lead-work, marching band, drum corps, and recording. This mouthpiece will really Zing from top to bottom.

62SZ GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
Standard GR rim contour: a balance of medium characteristics, this rim is comfortable and should be easy for most players to adapt to quickly. The width may feel a bit more generous than traditional rims and will aid endurance. Flexibility is good and articulations will be cleanly defined.
.62" rim diameter, approximately equivalent to a Bach 10½
SZ cup: recommended for players who feel the Z cup provides too little lip room, has an alpha angle that is too high, or a rim that is too flat. A great choice if the S cup doesnt provide enough compression for range requirements and articulation, or enough edge to the sound. The SZ cup has the rim and alpha of the S cup and the bottom of the Z, with the GR #1 backbore. The GR Mouthpiece Design Program makes a mathematically perfect design that features less volume than the S cup but more than the Z cup. This design allows for the lip room of the S cup with the edge and compression of the Z cup. The SZ has a powerful big sound and a full sound spectrum, good endurance and added compression for a strong upper register with superb articulation. The SZ cup is outstanding for lead work, marching band/drum corps, Latin, jazz, and studio work, great for microphone work and records well.
