The Zony Series Trumpet Mouthpieces were originally designed for Trumpeter Mike Zonshine of the Honolulu Symphony. These mouthpieces quickly became so popular with classical trumpeters that GR decided to add them to the standard line. Mike Zonshine has studied with Boyde Hood, Roger Voisin, Tom Rolfs of the Boston Symphony, and James Thompson. He has attended the Tanglewood Music Center and the Eastman School of music.

67.9 Zony 1 GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
• Standard GR rim contour: a balance of medium characteristics, this rim is comfortable and should be easy for most players to adapt to quickly. The width may feel a bit more generous than traditional rims and will aid endurance. Flexibility is good and articulations will be cleanly defined.
• .679" rim diameter, between a current Bach 1 and the larger, old Bach 1
• A large cup, custom design for Mike Zonshine. This is the largest cup volume of any GR mouthpiece. It requires considerable strength and breath support, and can produce a huge, rich tone.

67.9 Zony 9C* GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
• Standard GR rim contour: a balance of medium characteristics, this rim is comfortable and should be easy for most players to adapt to quickly. The width may feel a bit more generous than traditional rims and will aid endurance. Flexibility is good and articulations will be cleanly defined.
• .679" rim diameter, between a current Bach 1 and the larger, old Bach 1
• C* cup: these feature the GR Classic blank, Standard rim, and GR #3 backbore. The C* features a higher alpha angle (similar to the M cup) and a larger cup volume. This design allows for added lip support and efficient playing characteristics throughout the range of the trumpet. The C* has an improved throat entrance over older, "conventional" C cup designs, which allows improved articulation, accuracy, and efficiency, along with a pure core of sound not found on most traditional mouthpieces. The C* cup has a beautiful, full sound with excellent projection, and the ability to blend in any situation. A great choice for the student, amateur, and professional, this cup has been use successfully on the D/Eb trumpet as well as the C trumpet.

67.9 Zony 24 GR Trumpet Mouthpiece
• custom Mike Zonshine rim: added bite and narrower rim diameter (not cup diameter), this rim improved the match between Mike and his mouthpiece, allowing an increase in endurance, improved articulation, and added harmonics to his beautiful sound.
• .679" rim diameter, between a current Bach 1 and the larger, old Bach 1
• With the same profile as the Zony 1 and Zony 9C*, this is a great orchestral mouthpiece for C trumpet with great projection, traditional sound and a full spectrum of overtones.
