Schilke M1 Symphony Series™ Trumpet Mouthpiece
compares to a Schilke 19 or 20 rim, a Bach 1
Standard bowl-shape C cup with a 24 throat and Schmitt backbore. Excellent all around mouthpiece for both C and Bb trumpet.
The M cups are shallower C cups, because players have said that the standard C cups were too deep for the orchestral player.

Schilke F1 Symphony Series™ Trumpet Mouthpiece
compares to a Schilke 19 or 20 rim, a Bach 1
The F models offer a deep V-shape cup that provides darker, warmer, more conical color allowing one to project at full capacity but maintain a soft mellow sound. These models utilize a shorter shank to compensate for cup volume plus a larger throat size & backbore taper.
Players in need of a quiet, mellow sound but not projection utilize the F cup mouthpieces. This has been popular for Schumann, Beethoven, or anything that requires trumpet, but not in a predominate role. Also popular for solos like Wagner's Parsifal, or the Mahler #3 posthorn solo.
